The first musical from Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown, (Parade, Bridges of Madison County), is a moving collection of powerful songs which examine life, love and the choices that we make. This rousing score blends elements of pop, gospel and jazz, and features tight harmonies, dynamic vocals and strong storytelling. Songs for A New World transports the audience from the deck of a Spanish sailing ship bound for a new land, to the ledge of a New York penthouse. Audiences enjoyed this supercharged, beautifully-crafted score with songs that are linked by themes of aspirations, decisions and the power of "that moment before it all becomes clear.”
