The cast will comprise approximately five men and four women, each playing at least two roles/two scenes. At auditions you will be considered for two roles, and, if you are called back, you will likely be asked to read for at least two roles.
There is no particular age range for each character; for each scene, the actors will be cast as a pair that is age-appropriate together.
For the initial audition, please choose the character/side that resonates with you the most or that you like the most, and you will read that part with the stage manager/audition reader.
If you are called back, you will read at least two scenes with other actors.
NOTE: Several actors who are cast in Almost, Maine will have to kiss other actors as part of the scene(s). An intimacy coordinator will work with the company to plan these moments in rehearsal. The characters involved in kissing are marked with an asterisk*. The actors playing Marvalyn & Steve and Randy & Chad are involved in physical comedy/stage combat and will work with a fight choreographer in staging those scenes. Do not read for roles that involve kissing or physical comedy/stage combat if you are not comfortable doing this in the show.
